Speaker 2:Nice to be here.
Speaker 1:All right, kristen, can you tell me a bit about what brings you here to ISTE and ASCD?
Speaker 2:So a group of colleagues and I have come to ISTE this year, hopefully learn some new techniques to use with our students, find some new technology.
Speaker 1:We're trying to get into AI a little bit this year, so we're just trying to see what we can find Okay that's wonderful, and tell me a bit about your journey. Why did you choose to go into teaching? Thank you for watching Spotlight for Success. I am Devin Pintosi, chief Operating Officer of American Book Company. Speaker 2:I think I'm one of those that has wanted to be a teacher since I was maybe three and made my stuffed animals play school with me. Oh, look at that I think it's been a long time coming. So yeah, I think it's just always been in the plans. That's awesome.
Speaker 1:So, yeah, I think it's just always been in the plans. Oh, that's awesome. And so what brought you into? Are you gravitating towards technology through this process, going to ISTE? Are there things with technology that you want to do in your classroom or implement?
Speaker 2:I just like to get technology in my students' hands. That's where you know we're going it's 2025. We kind of have to embrace it instead of trying to shy away from it. So we might as well.
Speaker 1:just jump on board and go with it. Oh, okay, that's great. Do you have any comments you'd like to make to the ASCD ISTE community that you'd like to share with them, as they're going through this conference today?
Speaker 2:So going through the conference, definitely stop by the ABC booth. I am our technology person. I do a lot of stuff with our state testing. They've got great resources that help prepare our students for that. I know we've seen great success in our test scores over using the resources and stuff over the last couple of years, so definitely stop by and check them out.
Speaker 1:Oh, thank you so much, Kristen. Kristen's with Mobile County Schools.
Speaker 2:Thank you for joining us. Thank you for having me.
