SPEAKER_01:

Welcome to Spotlight for Success by American Book Company. I'm Devin Pintozi, your host. We are here in wonderful New Orleans, Louisiana at LaCue 2025. And we are so excited to be here with our special guest, Leslie Moore. Thank you, Leslie. Good to see you today.

SPEAKER_02:

Good to see you. You're very welcome.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh yes. Leslie's joining us from uh SPIMA Academy in East Baton Rouge. Uh Leslie, can you explain what SPIMA Academy is and does?

SPEAKER_02:

Scotlandville Middle Magnet Pre-engineering Academy.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, and wonderful. And so what is your role there in the school?

SPEAKER_02:

I teach graphic design and digital media.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, wonderful. And how long have you been doing that?

SPEAKER_02:

This year is my first year I was in the realignment.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, okay. All right. And um, and uh so what brings you here to LACU today?

SPEAKER_02:

What brings me to LACU today is um learning more about technology. I am a Kate teacher, so there's always something new to learn.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, yeah, absolutely. Is there a particular strand you're interested in?

SPEAKER_00:

Thank you for watching Spotlight for Success. I am Devin Pentosi, the Chief Operating Officer of American Book Company. We are located here in our headquarters in Woodstock, Georgia. SPEAKER_01:

Here at the conference.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm interested since AI is coming more popular, to learn more about AI with the students constantly using it.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, certainly. They certainly are uh not uh not bashful about getting started with AI. Not at all. So it's good. Anything, any information we can get here is good, right?

SPEAKER_00:

Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, absolutely. So, Leslie, tell me a bit about uh, you know, um you're you're in teaching, you've been in teaching. Um, did you have any special moments with the student? You're like, wow, this is why I got into teaching.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, I've had this one special moment with a student. Um, she was in the hall crying. And I said, Come in, sweetie. And so she came over and explained what was going on, and she said that she didn't have anyone to talk to and explained that her aunt had died.

SPEAKER_01:

So it's great that you were able to be there for her. Yes, yeah, wonderful. And uh, can you tell me a bit about uh is there something that you're hoping to take away from LACU or something you'd like to share with the LACU community?

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, every time I come to LACU, I learn something new within technology. Um there's always something arising and more stuff that's coming out to learn.

SPEAKER_01:

All right, that's wonderful. Well, uh, wonderful. Well, again, this is Leslie Moore, again with uh SPIMA Academy in East Baton Rouge, uh, working in technology and digital media. Thank you for joining us today.

SPEAKER_02:

You're very welcome.
